Abstract
Keywords : Achievement, Facebook, Technology, Vocabulary. Vocabulary is one of the most important aspect in learning English. Students of the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Kamal feel confuse when the teacher teaching them using English. They do not understand what the teacher talking and the meaning of the text. They need a dictionary even ask to the teacher to translate it into Indonesian. In addition, they feel bored with the media that teacher usually give for them. They need new media to make them interest in learning English. Therefore, the researcher wants to teach them use a new media through technology which is fun, interactive and easy to understand the lesson of English. This research is quantitative of quasi expremental.There are two variables in this research, there are independent and dependent variables. The independent variable is “Facebook environment’’ while the dependent variable is students’ vocabulary mastery. The objective of this research is to know the effect of Facebook environment on students’ vocabulary mastery at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 1 Kamal. The researcher uses test as an instrument in getting the data. To analyze the data, the researcher uses SPSS 23IBM version.The result shows that p- value is 0.000 < 0.05 (α), if P-value < a. It means that alternative hypothesis (Hα) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It could be an answer from research question that the students taught by using Facebook environment can be effective as media teaching to vovabulary at the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Kamal.
