Abstract

Keywords: Writing Skill, Yahoo Group, Descriptive Text Writing is an important skill which it can be communication tools. Through it, each person can use their ideas and feel. Thewriting makes the students to get more knowledge and information. Writing is an essential element in develops skill. Especially for students of SMPN 2 Kamal on learning English. In order to assist learners comprehend writing skill, the researcher conducted this research using Yahoo Group. The objective of this research was find out significat difference between the students thaugh using Yahoo Group in writing skill with not using Yahoo Group for the Seventh Grade of SMPN 2 Kamal. This research was Quasi experimental research in quantitative research, using pre-test and post-test in experimental group and control group design. Before giving posttest, the researcher gave the treatment. The population was 99 students of Seventh Grade devide into 4 classes which is consist of 24 -25 students for each class. The sample in this study, VII-A and VIIB classes in SMPN2 Kamal were selected. The result of statistical hypothesis Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) testa from p-value was 0.000. It is smaller than the level of significant 0.05. If p-value<from the level of significant 0.05, It means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It can be concluded, there was a significantly difference between the students thaugh using Yahoo Group in writing skill with non-Yahoo Group for the Seventh Grade of SMPN2 Kamal. Therefor, it is expected that this media can be applied to teaching writing.
