Abstract

Advisor I: Moh Arif wahyudi M.Pd., Advisor II: Arfiyan Ridwan M.Pd. Keywords: Pronunciation, Magic Translation, U Dictionary, Students U dictionary is a translation application that is able to help students learn English through every feature that is useful in every learning of basic English skills, namely writing, reading, listening and speaking as well as other English skills such as in this study, namely pronunciation and phoneme transcription. This study aims to find out how students respond when learning English using the U Dictionary application, especially when students learn about pronunciation and phoneme. This research is a research that uses a qualitative descriptive research approach. The data comes from the results of questionnaires and interviews given to several students at SMPS NU Al Affaniy who have been selected by the researcher. Based on the results of this study, it showed a very good response from the students when learning English using the U Dictionary application, especially when learning pronunciation and phoneme. The responses from the students showed that they were helped by the use of the U Dictionary application and of course they were able to improve their ability to speak good and correct English, this was in line with what was expected by researchers who were able to provide easy-to-understand English learning.
