Abstract

Recently, there are numerous different ways that can be done by people when it comes to travel around the world or even when they just want to entertain themselves through internet media. Internet has provided everything they need by just a few simple clicks. Today, there is a new feature called ‘Traveloka Xperience’ in which can be said to be the new phenomenon in searching for any entertainment media. This study will try to analyze about the reader response of ‘Traveloka Xperience’ as a media for entertaining people especially for those who live in Surabaya. The theory of reader response from Jauss & Iser will be used to conduct this study. Phenomenological approach will be used as the research design in order to help to find an understanding on how the readers will respond to this cultural phenomenon. The result shows that the users’ responds are quite good in interpreting the benefits of Traveloka Xperience feature. Those users can make the maximum benefits of finding the meaning of this feature based on their own experiences and backgrounds.
