Abstract

Keywords: Writing skill, Draw The Bank Robbers game, Descriptive text. As an English skill, writing is very important. So, it is needed for teachers to teach writing which motivating to help students have a better ability on the writing skill. One of the method used in teaching writing is using of games. Draw The Bank Robbers Game is one kind of game that using picture and draw skill. The research design in this study is pre-experimental research that uses one group pre-test and post-test design with quantitative approach. The result of data analysis showed that it showed the mean is 11.621, the standard deviation is 5.653, and the standard error Mean is 1.050. In this research, the researcher took 95% of confidence level. It means that the researcher applied 5% of the standard error of this research (0.05) which 5% is standard numeral of error for the statistic of education. In this case, the score of lower stage is 13.771 while the score of upper stage is 9.470. The score of t-value is 11.070 and the degree of freedom is 28. The P-value was 0.000. It means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It can be concluded that the students taught by Draw The Bank Robbers Game have better score on writing skill descriptive text at eighth grade of SMPN 1 Arosbaya. Therefore, it showed that there was an effect of Draw The Bank Robbers Game in teaching writing descriptive text at eighth grade of SMPN 1 Arosbaya.
