Abstract

Keywords: Writing Skill, Scaffolding Strategy, Narrative text This research focuses on The Influence of Scaffolding Strategy On Students’ Writing Skill In Narrative Text At Eleventh Grade of MA NurulUlumLajing - Arosbaya. The researcher used the Scaffolding Strategy as method in this study, Strategy that is used to investigate if the eleventh grade students of MA NurulUlum have better ability in writing ability of Narrative text after using Scaffolding Strategy. There was an objective of the research that is too find out The Influence of Scaffolding Strategy On Students’ Writing Skill In Narrative Text At Eleventh Grade of MA NurulUlumLajing - Arosbaya. In this study, the researcher used quantitative research. This population was at The Eleventh Grade of MA NurulUlum and sample was XI IPA. This study was held in five meeting. The first meeting was pre-test, the second until fourth meeting was treatment stages, and the last meeting was post-test. By applying Scaffolding Strategy in writing ability of Narrative text, the result of the total mean of pretest was 52.31 while the total mean of posttest was 55.58. The result of T-test from P-Value (.001) was lower with level significant 0.05 or 5%. It means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It can be concluded that Scaffolding Strategy was effective in increasing students’ writing ability. Finally, some suggestion are proposed: (1) for the students, they should be more active and make writing as their habitual activity; (2) for the teachers, they should find some kinds of appropriate strategies such as Scaffolding strategy for their teaching program.
