Abstract

This research is motivated by the still vulnerable student learning outcomes in economics subjects at Tunas Harapan High School. This is shown by the student learning outcomes below the KKM. The problem solving learning model can be an alternative for improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting further research regarding problem solving learning models in improving student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to find out whether or not the application of the problem solving learning model can improve student learning outcomes in economics subjects at Tunas Harapan High School. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects in this research were students at Tunas Harapan High School, Parseh village. The data collection techniques use observation sheets, tests and documentation. Based on the results of the research analysis obtained, it will be concluded that the use of problem solvingbased learning methods can improve learning outcomes and student activity at Tunas Harapan High School. This was proven in the pre-cycle with an average value of 53, then it increased in cycle I with an average value of 64, then increased again in cycle II with an average value of 80.8. while the completeness of student learning outcomes in cycle I was 24% while in cycle I it was 60% then increased in cycle II to 85%.
