Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model Problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMP. Desain penelitian menggunakan one group pretest- posttest design dengan sampel 15 siswa. Hasil pretest menunjukkan rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 45,2, dengan nilai terendah 30 dan tertinggi 65, dimana semua siswa belum mencapai ketuntasan. Setelah penerapan model Problem solving, rata-rata posttest meningkat menjadi 80,8, dengan nilai minimal 60 dan maksimal 93, serta 13 siswa mencapai ketuntasan. Nilai n-gain sebesar 0,6 menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Model Problem Solving terbukti “efektif” dalam meningkatkan pemahaman tes keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. The Problem Solving model has proven to be 'effective' in enhancing students' understanding of critical thinking skills tests.
