Abstract

This quantitative research aims to determine the effect of the application of the method on the reading ability of eighth grade students at mts.s ykhs sepulu. This study used a pre-experimental research design with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects were all eighth grade students totalling twenty people. Data collection techniques used reading tests given before and after treatment. Data analysis used t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, which means that the application of drta method was effective in improving students' reading ability. The implication of this study is that the drta method can be an effective alternative method of learning to read Keywords:Drta method, reading comprehension, pre-experiment, mts students, learning effectiveness.
