Abstract

Inggris Skill in writing is a skill that is quite difficult, especially for ninth grade students. This can be seen from the average score for writing skills which is only 60, while the average standard set by the school is 75. In learning motivation, the researcher found that ninth grade students were less enthusiastic about participating in the teaching and learning process in writing narrative text skills Writing is a visual representation of thoughts, feelings, and ideas.This research was conducted to increase student motivation by applying the clustering learning method which can increase students' motivation and writing ability. So the specific objectives are to determine: 1.) Is the use of clustering techniques effective in teaching narrative text writing. 2.) Student responses to the grouping technique. The research method used in this research was quasi-experimental and sampled by 32 ninth grade students of SMPN 3 Bangkalan. Based on pre-test, post-test, interview data, clustering technique is effective in increasing scores in writing narrative texts. In addition, the response to the technique was positive because the student group had some weaknesses and also had some strengths. Indonesia Keterampilan dalam menulis merupakan keterampilan yang cukup sulit khususnya bagi siswa kelas sembilan. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis yang hanya 60, sedangkan standar rata-rata yang ditetapkan sekolah adalah 75.Dalam motivasi belajar peneliti menemukan siswa kelas sembilan,kurang antusias dalam mengikuti proses belajar mengajar khususnya dalam keterampilan menulis teks naratif. Menulis merupakan gambaran visual tentang pikiran, perasaan, dan ide. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran clustering yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan menulis siswa. Jadi tujuan khususnya adalah untuk menentukan: 1.)Apakah penggunaan tehnil clustering efektf dalam mengajar menulis teks naratif. 2.)Tanggapan siswa terhadap tehnikpengelompokan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dan sempelnya 32 siswa kelas sembilan SMPN 3 Bangkalan. Berdasarkan data dari pre-test, post-test, wawancara, tehnik clustering efektif dalam meningkatkan score dalam menulis teks naratif. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap tehnik itu positif karena pengelompokan memiliki beberapa kelemahan dan memiliki beberapa kekuatan juga.
