Abstract
NOWADAYS ENGLISH IS LEARNED BY ALL OF STUDENTS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UP TO UNIVERSITY IN INDONESIA. ENGLISH IS A TOOL AS PREFACE LANGUAGE THAT MUST BE OWNED BY ALL OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. VOCABULARY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT IN LANGUAGE ACQUISITION. VOCABULARY IS ONE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL FACTORS THAT MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR A PERSON TO SPEAK THE LANGUAGE IN THE COMMUNICATIVE WAY. THE TEACHERS MUST HAVE AN EFFECTIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES SO THAT STUDENT ARE MOTIVATED TO LARNN ENGLISH, ESPECIALLY IN VOCABULARY MASTERY. ONE OF EFFECTIVE METHOD IS WORD SQUARE. USING OF WORD SQUARE AT SCHOOL, CAN HELP STUDENTS BE MORE ACTIVE IN LEARNING. BECAUSE WORD SQUARE IS A FUN METHOD OF LEARNING, STUDENTS DO NOT GET BORED TO LEARN ENGLISH. THE STUDENTS GET MORE VARIED LEARNING, MORE MEANINGFUL, CHALLENGING AND FUN FOR THE STUDENTS. WORD SQUARE IS EVALUATION MODAL THAT COMBINES THE ABILITY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS WITH FORESIGHT IN MATCHING ANSWER ON ANSWER BOXES.
